What this Is (and What it Isn’t)

Let’s be clear.

This is not a fitness class.

Will we move a little? Sure.
Will we wear metaphorical leg warmers? Probably. (I’ll be in the real ones if they don’t give me a hot flash!)
Will you be forced to burpee? Absolutely not.

This is an AND.

Lite, optional 90s aerobics-style action AND an informative, slightly irreverent, medically grounded conversation about perimenopause.

If you want a workout, you’re welcome to do jumping jacks in the back while the rest of us are laughing and learning!

What We’ll Actually Talk About

• Why your brain feels foggy, irritable, or “not like myself”
• What fluctuating hormones are doing neurologically
• Why sleep becomes elusive
• What treatments actually help
• Hormones vs medications vs supplements vs lifestyle
• What’s normal, what’s common, and what deserves extra attention

I’m a psychiatrist and MSCP (Menopause Society Certified Practitioner).

My group exercise skills may be woefully lacking.

My knowledge of this stage of life is not.

This is education. Not individual medical advice.

But you will leave smarter!

Who this is For

Women in their late 30s, 40s, and early 50s who:

• Feel “off”
• Live near Land O’ Lakes and have ever Googled “what’s wrong with me” at 2am
• Want science without drama or histrionics
• Love a community of other women who think this sounds like fun
• Want to talk about this stage without whispering (and potentially using the eff word. loudly.)

You do not have to be my patient.
You do not have to be “crazy” (but it might help).
You just have to be curious.

Why I’m Doing This

Because perimenopause can feel isolating.

Because so many women are struggling through this alone.

Because I suddenly have more local patients than ever, and I miss real-life community.

Because sometimes the best way to start a conversation about a serious transition is with a little bit of ridiculous. Especially with some demonstrations from participants!

FAQ Section

  • Nope. This is educational and community-based. Just sharing the knowledge.

  • No way. It isn’t technically exercise anyway. Just a fun way to remember all the great aerobics moves we did in the 90s when our vaginas were new-ish and stretchy.

  • Something comfortable. Leg warmers encouraged but not required. Avoid anything that will probably cause a hot flash! But if it happens anyway know you’re in good company.

  • Not at this event! This is NOT individual medical consultation. But we will discuss hormones and other treatment options, generally for educational purposes.

  • Yes! Please do. Or 3!

  • Because space is limited to 50 spots, tickets are non-refundable. If you can’t attend, you’re welcome to gift your ticket to a friend! Or reach out and we’ll see what we can figure out.

  • “I came for the leg warmers. I stayed for the neuroscience.”

-said no-one, but they will after this

  • “I thought I was losing my mind. Turns out it was just estrogen.”

-every mid-life woman at some point

  • “Perimenopause: testing how well we can function with zero f*cks left to give.”

    -maybe this is just me

  • “My group exercise acumen is fake. My knowledge is not.”

    -Dr. B

Curious? Good.

This is a brand new event.

It may be slightly ridiculous.

It will definitely be informative.

Bring your questions.

Bring a friend.

Bring your hot flash energy.
